Diverso tempo fa il mio amico Stefano Cuccolini mi segnalò questa webcam posta ad Abisko, Lapponia. Questo è il miglior posto al mondo dove poter osservare le aurore boreali per via della sua conformazione geografica che tiene lontane le perturbazioni regalando notti serente e ideali per l'osservazione di questo spettacolare fenomeno naturale.
Dopo diverso tempo passato a guardare le immagini delle aurore che si susseguivano, mi venne l'idea di fare dei timelapse per non "sprecare" le immagini di questa webcam. Dopo aver contatto la stazione scientifica e aver ottenuto il permesso, ho cominciato giorno dopo giorno a scaricere le immagini delle singole nottate per poi creare successivamente i filmati.

Some time ago my friend Stefano Cuccolini report to me this webcam placed in Abisko, Lapland. This is the best place on earth where you can see the northern lights because his geographical layout which takes away the perturbations giving serente nights and ideal for the observation of this spectacular natural phenomenon.

After some time spent watching images of auroras, I got the idea to make timelapse. After contact the research station and obtained permission, I began a daily download of the picture about every nights and then create it later movies.
